Research Objectives

The KTTP intervention has served as a context for research on caregiver-implemented early childhood communication interventions. Ongoing investigations aim to address the following areas of inquiry:

  1. Does participation in KTTP lead to enhanced child communication outcomes for children in home and center-based settings?

  2. What coaching strategies are effective in supporting caregiver-implemented interventions?

  3. What are the challenges caregivers and children face as they transition from Part C to Part B services?

  4. What supports do caregivers find useful as their child transitions between Part C and Part B services?

  5. What do we know about communication development for children with significant communication delays who are receiving naturalistic, family-guided interventions? How do we track their development and which assessment tools provide helpful information to providers and families?

  6. What strategies are effective for supporting the caregiver's continued implementation of communication intervention after transitions to Part B services?
